The School of Global Health at Meharry Medical College Announces JC Gonzalez named to the 2024 “40 Under 40 Leaders in Minority Health” Awards by the National Minority Quality Forum (NMQF)

Nashville, TN – JC Gonzalez MBA, PMP, a public health researcher and advocate for health equity, has been selected for the “40 Under 40 Leaders in Minority Health Awards” by the National Minority Quality Forum. This recognition celebrates his exemplary contributions to improving health outcomes and reducing inequities through his work in advancing equitable data, technology, and research practices.

JC’s work, particularly as Product Manager for the Health Equity Tracker, a collaborative platform designed to leverage data and technology to produce innovative, actionable and equity-driven data visualizations has been instrumental in revealing the outsized impact of health inequities across diverse populations on a range of conditions, diseases, and determinants of health data.

In his current role as Assistant Vice President at the School of Global Health at Meharry Medical College, JC is involved in supporting strategic planning and program management. The first and only one of its kind in the United States, The School of Global Health was established to further Meharry’s commitment to advancing health equity for all communities both domestically and globally. “JC’s selection as one of the 40 Under 40 Leaders in Minority Health powerfully underscores the core values we cherish and promote at the School of Global Health,” said Daniel E. Dawes, founding Dean and Senior Vice President, Global Health. “His dedication and innovative approaches to reducing inequities through advocacy, research, and policy pushes the needle forward in our efforts to create a healthier, more equitable world.”

In 2022, JC’s leadership was further recognized through his selection as one of twenty national participants in the Public Voices Fellowship at AcademyHealth, in partnership with The OpEd Project. His insights and research have garnered attention in notable publications such as Harvard Public Health Magazine, The Hill, STAT News, and the Boston Globe.

JC will receive the “40 Under 40 Leaders in Minority Health” award at the National Minority Quality Forum’s Leadership Summit on April 30th.
